How Babar Azam made his money
PSL salary. One of the Pakistan Super League’s highest-paid players. The National lists him at $220,000 for the 2025 season with Peshawar Zalmi, level with Fakhar Zaman and Shaheen Afridi and behind only David Warner ($300,000). The Pakistan Cricket Board funded a separate $1 million pool to pay top players above the draft salary cap. He had progressed from the Silver to the Platinum category, and was reportedly paid the equivalent of $170,000 (about 1.24 crore rupees) in the 2023 season.
Central contract. The PCB placed him in Category B for the 2025-26 season (July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026) and gave no player Category A that year, according to the PCB announcement. The Current, citing the Express Tribune, puts Category B pay at PKR 3 million a month plus PKR 1.5525 million as an ICC revenue share.
Endorsements. A large social-media following makes him valuable to brands: his endorsement deals include Oppo, Head & Shoulders, HBL and Huawei, worth millions of rupees per year. In January 2025 he ended his long partnership with bat maker Gray-Nicholls and signed with CA Sports, Aaj News reported.
League and domestic cricket. Beyond the national side and PSL, his career includes stints with Karachi Kings, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Sylhet Sixers and Somerset, plus Pakistan domestic teams.
